Dagar

Dhrupad is the oldest surviving form of Hindustani classical music and the Dagars, who have been singing for twenty generations are responsible more than anyone else for keeping it alive. Times have changed but the Dagars have tenaciously not allowed the pristine Dhrupad to be diluted or distorted. This film on the Dagars is a slow meditative journey that fuses the depth and quiet of the traditional with the hurly-burly of the modern.

Covering his masterpieces and the landmark paintings created between the periods from 1900 to 1972, the film strives to explain his works to the lay viewers in a novel attempt to bridge the gap between modern art and the common people.

Pampa

Encouraged by her parents and teachers, Pampa could develop her hobby of drawing and painting. At the age of 14 when she reached the ninth standard she had already won many awards for her talents. Through the story of Pampa, this film underlines the message that there are thousands of young boys and girls in India who can do just as well as Pampa in their chosen fields. But they all need some understanding and encouragement. For instance, Pampa was even asked to design a postage stamp, representing the vitality of youth.
