C. V. Raman

A biographical film on CV Raman, India's great scientist. CV Raman was born at Tiruvanaikkaval, near Trichinapally in Tamil nadu on November 7, 1888. He had a brilliant academic career.He got the prestigious position of Assistant Accountant Generalat Calcutta when he was only 18. Later Raman joined theIndian Association for the Cultivation of Science. This Association was founded in 1876 by Mahendra Lal Sarkar for the cultivationof science through original research. CV Raman became world famous for his discovery on the new radiation (the Raman Effect) in 1928.For this discovery he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics onDecember 11, 1930. He received innumerable international and national awards, including the Bharat Ratna. Prof. CV Ramanpassed away on November 21, 1970.
